Flat, raised texture or relief
The same course emblem on four of our coins. Our UV printer lays down resin ink that UV light cures hard, layer on layer, so it can build your design up off the coin as well as print it flat.
Relief, 0.5 to 2 mm
Your design rises off the coin like a sculpture and catches the light. Shown at 2 mm with matte varnish.
Raised texture, 0.5 mm
Lettering and logos stand up from the surface, so you can feel them. Shown with gloss varnish.
Flat, gloss varnish
A smooth surface with a sheen that protects the print from scratches.
Flat, no varnish
A smooth, full-color surface: our 3D-printed coins don't need a coat.
3D-printed coins, and metal coins coming soon
3D-printed coin, 1.75 in
Made on our own printers, with a reeded edge. Light (5.6 g) and printed in full color over a white base, so photos, gradients and fine type print sharp. From 1 coin.
Metal coin, 40 mm
Zinc with real weight, primed, UV printed and always sealed, in a clear capsule. $3.50 a coin more than the 3D-printed price. Coming soon: send a request and we'll confirm when we can start yours.
Not a mold, a print
Metal enamel coins need a mold for every design. Ours print straight from your file, so with your own artwork, a new design each order costs nothing extra. See how they compare
Both sides, full color
Your front design and back design are both included, with no charge per color.

Coins for troops, packs, teams and clubs
We've made coins for a Scout youth leadership course, a Cub Scout pack and a Scout contingent, and they work the same way for clubs, teams and businesses: something to hand over that people keep.
A troop's coin for every court of honor, or a club's for every season? A recurring order keeps your back design on file, takes a new front design each order, and prices every coin on your year's total.
- Priced on the year. At least 4 orders a year, each priced on all the year's coins. Try a recurring order
- Tax-exempt? Enter your Maryland exemption certificate number and your organization's name when you order. We check it before we print.
- A date to hit. Tell us the day you need them in hand and the calculator works back from it.
- One coin per person, or a few spare. Order the exact number, from 1 coin.

How much do custom challenge coins cost?
From $3 a coin, down to $1.75 a coin for 250 or more, printed in full color on both sides. Varnish, raised texture and relief add to that, and your own artwork has no setup fee. The calculator shows your exact price, tax and shipping before you order.
What's the smallest order?
One coin. Small orders have a $15 minimum before tax, so a handful of coins comes to $15.
How big are the coins, and what are they like to hold?
Our 3D-printed coins are 1.75 in across, with a reeded edge. They're light, about 5.6 g, so they're easy to hand out and post. For real weight, our 40 mm zinc coins are coming soon.
What's the difference between raised texture and relief?
Raised texture lifts your lettering and lines 0.5 mm off the surface, so you can feel them. Relief builds the whole design up, 0.5 to 2 mm, like a small sculpture. Both are UV-cured resin ink in full color, on the front or on both sides. See them side by side.
Do I need varnish?
No. Our 3D-printed coins don't need it. Gloss or matte varnish adds a sheen and protects the print from scratches, for $0.25 a coin for each printed side. Metal coins are always sealed.
What artwork do you need?
A file for the front design and one for the back, or one file for the same design on both sides: PNG, JPG, PDF or SVG, up to 25 MB each. For a sharp print, use at least 525 × 525 px for each side. We print it as you send it, fitted to the coin, and the calculator shows it on the coin, in 3D, before you buy.
Can you design the coin for me?
Yes. Choose Design it for me and describe what you'd like: $15, with one round of changes included, then $5 for each round after that. Each more design in the same order is $5, with one change. You get an image of your coin to check before we print.
How quickly can I get them?
Usually about a week. Within about an hour of paying, in our working hours, we email you an image of your coin. You have 24 hours to ask for a change or tell us to start, and then we print. Need them in under a week? That's rush, 30% more, from 3 days. Shipping adds 3 to 5 days.
Do you make metal challenge coins?
Soon: 40 mm zinc coins, UV printed, sealed and in a clear capsule, at $3.50 a coin more than our 3D-printed coins. Send a request now and we'll confirm when we can start yours; there's nothing to pay until then.
Our troop, school or club is tax-exempt. Can we use that?
Yes. Enter your Maryland exemption certificate number and your organization's name when you order, and pay with the organization's funds. We check the certificate before we start printing.
We order coins several times a year. Is there a better price?
Yes: a recurring order. Plan at least 4 orders over 365 days, and every coin is priced on the year's total, so 5 orders of 50 coins get the 250-coin price. There's nothing extra up front and no card on file. If you order fewer coins than planned, you pay only the difference in price on the coins you ordered. Try a recurring order.
Where are you? Can I pick up?
We're in Pasadena, Maryland, in Anne Arundel County. Pick up here at a time we arrange by email, a short drive from Glen Burnie, Severna Park, Arnold, Annapolis and Baltimore. Or we ship anywhere in the US by USPS, at the rate shown before you pay.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Pay in full at checkout by Venmo. You can cancel within 24 hours of buying, from your order page, as long as printing hasn't started: we refund everything except the design fee once your design is made. The details are in our refund and cancellation policy.
